NEWTON'S LAWS OF MOTION: YOU CAN BE GREAT

Was this article helpful? Let us know.

Sir Isaac Newton is one of the greatest scientists that ever lived, little wonder, he is refered to as the father of the modern day physics. He was sitting under an apple tree one day, and an apple fell on his head. He wondered why the apple did not suspend in the air, and began several researches which led to the discovery of the gravitational force. Gravitational force is the force that pulls all bodies to the center of the earth. The apple that fell on Newton's head motivated all his discoveries.

Success leaves clues, and if you do what successful people did, you too can achieve success. By modeling champions, you leverage on their knowledge and experience, achieving what they achieved faster and better. Sir Isaac Newton is a man worth modeling, which is what I hope to achieve through this article.

Motion is the act of moving. I believe you want to move from where you are to where you ought to be because you are tired of staying at the back burner. I know you want to sing your song and shine your light. I know that you are tired of toying with your life, and getting low grades, that is why you are reading this article. I will be showing you how to move from being ordinary to becoming extra-ordinary, so have a good read.

Newton's first law of motion states that all bodies will continue in its state of rest or of uniform motion unless propelled by an external force to act otherwise.

Your life will remain the way it is now if you do nothing about it. Same efforts will produce the same result. You are where you are today because of the actions you took in the past. Your life will continue this way except you take different actions, starting from now. The way to live a better life is to make better decisions.

The way to get better grades is to change your reading habits.
You have to learn to embrace change. One Chinese proverb says, "If you do what you've always done, you will get what you've always got." The challenge is for you to look at those areas of your life where you are not getting optimum results. Check on your spiritual, physical, financial, academicals, mental and emotional life. In which of these areas have you been unproductive?

Next thing you do is to look at what you've always done, that made you unproductive. Look at the way you've always walked and talked, look at the way you've always read and study, and the way you've always spend and save money in school. What can you do differently to produce a better result? It was Albert Einstein that said "Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting to get a different result." Embrace change.

Stagnant water stinks. If your life is stinking right now, pay close attention to what you are thinking and doing. I know that change comes with fear of uncertainty, yet it is important for you to be receptive to change. If you don't want your life to be rest or empty, you have to be receptive to change. Change your approach at all times until you get a different result.
Uniform motion is movement in the same direction.

Lateral thinking tells us that efforts in the same direction cannot be as meaningful as changing directions. When your efforts are yielding good results, you have to explore better ways of achieving those results. The fact that something worked effectively does not mean it has to be that way forever. You've got to add creativity to it. The competition is not with your classmates, but yourself. Break your own records and better your best efforts.

Newton's second law of motion states that the rate of change of momentum of a body is directly proportional to the applied force, and takes place in the direction in which the force acts.

Mathematically, we have that force is equal to the product of mass and acceleration. This means that force determines acceleration.
Successful people are not usually the brightest in class or the most good looking. Some of them are not from a rich home, and some are college drop outs. But one weapon of success is force.

You don’t succeed by luck, you succeed by applying force.

Force determines acceleration. How far you will go in life is determined by the amount of time you spend developing your potentials, and awakening the sleeping giant with you. Success does not come easily, so you have to play it hard. The number one requirement for success is hard work.

You have to read all night long to be the best in your department. You have to record or rehearse that song, or rehearse that drama all through the night if you must be on top of your game. Are you willing to do all these to make your dreams come true? If you want to be successful, you have to eliminate laziness, learn from the busy ants.

Your passion determines your acceleration .The journey of success is one you must take patiently, but passionately. When you are passionate about your dreams, no mountain that obstructs you will be too high to climb over. When you are passionate, you are set on fire. You are unstoppable!

Newton's third law of motion states that to every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

I have heard people talk about a second life. Some girls wish to be boys in their second life. The same thing applies to boys. I believe the second life you have is the future. Your first life is the seed time, and your second life, the harvest time. Everything you do now will catch up with you in the future. Every action you take now, will produce a reaction in the future. The man with grey hair that you see as a gate keeper in a secondary school had perhaps played with his youthful age. Every action has a reaction.

Take positive actions on a daily basis. I heard the story of a lecturer who couldn't get a job in Shell Petroleum Company. He had the requisite qualification and experience. He couldn't get the job because the interviewer was a student he frustrated in the university. That is poetic justice; he reaped what he had sown.

Decide to be serious with your life now. This is not the time to spend on chasing girls, or on unreasonable activities. Earlier this year, someone I know very well died in my vicinity died of kidney problem, while he was looking for the seven million required to do an operation on him.
We can’t afford to enjoy for four years now, and regret in the future. It will be too late then.

Time is running out and we need to the right things at the right time. We are getting older by the day. We should mature into that realization that there is life after campus. Let’s hold our destiny in our hands, and do all we can our best. Let’s sow the right seed. Let’s take positive actions daily that will guarantee a bright future. In the words of Jim Rohn, "For every disciplined effort, there are multiple reward." Remember, if nothing stopped you from being born, then nothing can stop you from achieving your wildest dreams.
