PURSUE YOUR DREAMS

It is about 16 years ago, and the place is Lagos Island. A man, an astute businessman declared himself winner of the presidential election, which later led to fracas on June, 12, 1993. As I think about him, I think he was wealthy and famous, but he had a dream. He wanted to be a president. He pursued his dream till death.

You area dream come true. You ran faster than a million spermatozoa and survived for nine months in your mother's belly. Then you came out alive, soaked in blood. That was a miracle. If you are a dream come true, then you can make your dreams come true. "If nothing stopped you from been born, then nothing can stop you from achieving your wildest dreams.

I am a dreamer, and I make my dreams come true. Just six years ago, I decided to make a difference in my world, and here I am today, motivating people to live the life of their dreams. Here are some guidelines that can help you pursue your dreams till you achieve them.

(1)It is a solo affair

He called me on phone to help him achieve his dream. He told me about the songs he wrote. He seems to be frustrated because he had written a lot of songs, and yet to release an album. After talking to him, I booked a free, no commitment coaching session with Emmanuel that lasted for an hour.

"Come up with a list of all the things that are stopping you from achieving your dreams," I told Emmanuel. He wrote a list, blaming his lack of funds, as well as lack of charitable organizations that hunt for talents.

I told him he is the one responsible for his failure. There is truth in the African proverb: "The coco yam that refuse to spur will always point an accusing finger to the ground." Truth is, you can blame the president on his 'seven-point-sleeping agenda'; you can blame your parents or even your siblings; you can blame your next door neighbour, but that will only let the sleeping dog lie. Your dream is your baby and only you can birth it in the labour room.

2. Hard-work

The man who invented the light bulb didn't achieve the feat till his 10 000th attempt. Thomas Edison spoke from experience when he said "There is no substitute for hard work." Keep working till you achieve your dream.

I am yet to meet a successful person that is lazy. Hard-work makes your dream work. In the pursuance of your dreams, you have to fight against your enemies. Your enemies in this context are those things that are hindering you from achieving your dream. Fight against laziness, procrastination and fear.

3.Face your fears

70 percent of your fears are not real. Here's a story.
A sage was on his chair when he saw Mr. Fear on his way to a nearby city. The sage questioned him to know where he was up to. Mr fear said that he is on his way to claim the lives of 15 people. The sage, not happy with that, pleaded with him to be compassionate.

Hours later, rhe sage stopped Mr fear on his way back, accusing him for claiming the lives of 45 people. He replied that he only killed 15 people, and the remaining 30 people died because of fear.

The story shows that fear kills. It kills your confidence, motivation, and your inspiration. The worse thing to do is to give up on your dreams. No one will pursue your dreams for you.

Decide to pursue your dreams, no matter how fierce the challenges are. When you need encouragement, you can contact me. Remember, the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
