Psychologists have found at that most times, people do not know their personal identity. They only tend to awake abruptly to the reality that all along they have known others, but have lost touch with their own identity. It is only at that defining moment that they will begin to search for their own meaning and relevance in the terrestrial plain called earth.
Identity crisis, according to psychologist Erik Erikson, is the failure to achieve ego identity during adolescence. Erikson coined the term. The stage of psychosocial development in which identity crisis may occur is called the Identity Cohesion versus Role Confusion stage. During this stage (adolescence), we are faced with physical growth, sexual maturation, and integrating our ideas of ourselves and about what others think of us. We therefore form our self-image and endure the task of resolving the crisis of our basic ego identity. Successful resolution of the crisis depends on one’s progress through previous developmental stages, centering on issues such as trust, autonomy, and initiative
WHO AM I?
Who am I? What is my personality? Personality is a phenomenon can be defined as the totality of an individual‘s behavioral and emotional tendencies. If you don't who you are, you will forever live the life of someone else. Every close friend and relative will define what they want your life to be for you. But you don't want to live the life of another person I guess. You want to live your life, in your own terms. To know who you are, you have to ask yourself the right questions because when you ask the right questions, you will get the right answers.
Who am I? What makes you tick? What makes you soar on thermals of happiness? What do you enjoy doing? what are your latent talents? What do you do with ease that others find hard to do? What makes you earn money? What makes you impact the lives of others positively? You are problem solver and a blessing to this generation, but you have to discover your inner light in order to shine. You are a star, and a voice that must be hard. you are special. You are gifted. You are intelligent. You are gifted. You are beautiful. There is something in you that you have not unleashed yet.
You were not created by accident. You are not a victim of accident or accident or coincident. You were created to solve a problem. That is why you have to discover yourself
WHAT CAN I DO?
What can I do? To know what you can do, check out your talents. When you discover your talent, nobody will be able to keep you silent. There is something in your nothing. Somebody needs what you have. Austin J.J. Okocha discovered his talent; and became an icon in football. Tu Face Idhibia discovered himself, and became an icon in music.
You can only climb the ladder of your destiny through personal inventory. You are too close to let your story hinder you from stepping into your destiny. What can I do? What are my talents? WHERE AM I GOING?
Vision is the visualization of your dreams. Vision has to do with sight. It is the art of carving a place for “you” in the future. A sage once said that "A vision is a mental picture of a desired future state." I want you imagine the kind of life you want to live. Visualize yourself working for the company you want to work for. Don’t see a screen or a picture in your mind. Put yourself into your imagination. See yourself driving your dream car, with your dream spouse, to your dream house. Visualize the picture of a perfect life, where you have all the money you need. How do you feel? Imagine the coolness of your dream office. How cool is it? Imagine the voice of your secretary? Imagine eating your best meal in the company’s canteen? Perceive the odour of your dream flower garden, how does it smell?
These are more than a mental exercise, they are a magnetic attraction. There is an acronym WYSIWYG which means What You See Is What You Get. If you can see it in your mind, you can attract it to your life. What you don’t see, you can’t seize. Vision is an attractive force that draws you to your future, a step at a time.
