Pop music international icon, Micheal Joseph Jackson (August 29, 12958-June 25, 2009), was born in Gary, Indiana on August 29, 1958. He made his debut on the professional music scene in 1968 as a member of the Jackson %, before going solo.
As I watched the Television that cool Thursday morning, the last rehearsal MJ had before his death, I learnt a couple o-f lessons, which I shall share with you.

Develop yourself. Human capital development experts have said that the grave is the richest place on earth because a lot of people go there with their talents and gifting are gifted. You are a bundle of solutions sent to the world to solve problems. No matter what you are good at now, ask yourself, what else I’m I good at, and keep asking yourself that question till you leave the terrestrial plane,
2. Make history
In 1982, Michael Jackson revolutionized the music world with his mega star album, Thriller, which sold about 120 million copies and earned him a record of eight Grammy Awards in 1984. With stage performances and music videos, MJ popularized a number of physically complicated dance steps, such as the robot, and the moonwalk.
You too can make history. Don’t let your failures hinder you from making history. Eternity is in two forms: Meeting God face-to-face, and then, living in the hearts of men. You too can etch your name in the history books by doing all you can to make your dreams come true, and yes, you can.
3. Be a giver
Jackson co-wrote the single song, We Are The World, with Lionel Richie, and rallied 38 other musicians to perform the album whose proceeds were used in support of the poor in Africa and the United States.
Furthermore, according to a report, CNN learnt that the family trust created by Jackson to receive all of his assets include his mother, his children, and a list of charities.
You have a responsibility over your community. It is your responsibility to leave your community a better place than you met it. Do not ask what your community can do for you. Ask what you can do for your community.
4. Life is about balance
He had his share of self-destruction. We can learn from his successes and struggles. MJ spent his earnings estimated to be a billion dollars on frivolities including a ranch he did not really need. A series of cosmetic surgeries on his face disfigured him and generated much negative publicity for him.
Moderation is necessary in life. It is true that too much of anything may be bad. Always remember that no matter how high you fly, you will perch at some point.
Life is about balancing one’s strengths and weaknesses, and faith and fears. You were never perfect. And that day when you will become speechless in the grave, only your ‘works’ will speak for you, for life is not about living long, but leaving a long lasting effect on people’s live.
