INFLUENCING PEOPLE SUBCONSCIOUSLY

Leadership is influence. The people we respect, perhaps, are those people who have influenced our life positively. If you want to be remembered after you leave this terrestrial plane, then influence people's lives. Truly, you can fill in the gap somewhere. Everybody can.

Influence is all about making a difference. You can be an employee with a difference. You can do whatever you do now, with a difference. If you want to succeed, do more than you are paid for. That is called 'going the extra-mile.' Going the extra-mile at work sets you apart, giving your opinion weight. It subconsciously inform the leaders in your organization that you are focused and worth more than you are paid.

You can influence your customer subconsciously by showing them that you care. Federal Express, a delivery company cares about her customers. Here is their brand promise: "When it absolutely has to be there by 10 a.m. the next morning use federal Express."

There was a snow storm in the mountains outside of Denver, Colorado, and a federal Express official rented an helicopter, paid $7,500 and flew over the snow storm just to deliver a $15 package by 10 a.m. the next morning. This is because their brand promise is 'quick delivery' without excuses.

Your influence people with your vision. A vision is simply a mental picture of what you want to achieve in the future. My vision is to help people live the life of their dreams. In doing this, I coach people at the beginning of the year to set SMART goals. Most of the time, they achieve their goals. I have also coached notable celebrities in the past two years on goal setting. My vision is also the motivating factor for the articles I write, and my Interpersonal Skill Trainings. If you want to influence people, get a vision.

Your influence people subconsciously with your image. Image Consultants tell us that image is everything. You are more likely to respect and obey someone putting on a suit. A suit is a symbol of authority, affluence, and focus. Don't forget that you are addressed the way you are dressed.

Here is an image makeover for you. A number of men at some successful companies have a better chance of getting ahead if they knew how to dress. Employee's dress code affects the general tone of the office; executives would likely hold up the promotion of a man who does not dress properly. Most companies at present turn down people who show up at job interviews improperly dressed on that basis alone.

You may carve out time to groom yourself before leaving your house, without looking like rainbow. A combination of two or three colours is suitable for business officials. Never underestimate the potency of a clean hair cut.

A recent research prooved that sales people with a white shirt appear honest and reliable, while a red tie makes you look sexy. business executives have to look the part because people see you before they hear you.
It is advisable for business excutives not to buy their clothing in a hurry. An excellent shirt is usually what you need. Never forget to always give your shoe the best shine always. You can even model the dress code of the most successful people in your field.
Get their attention in thirty seconds or less. Most times, it is in the first thirty-seconds of every conversation that people determine their response to whatever you are telling them. If you can't get the other person's attention in the first thirty seconds, they won't probably pay attention to what you are saying.
Everybody wants to listen to someone who will help them solve their personal problems in a way. You may anchor your conversation on the what the other person stands to benefit by listening to you. this means you may say the most important thing in the first thirty seconds and the other person will be compelled to listen to you. That is influence.
